Product Overview

Chocolate products from The Roatan Chocolate Factory (TRCF) are made with wild cacao harvested by indigenous communities living in La Moskitia, which is an area of tropical rainforest in the Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve. Many of the cocoa also comes from Wampusirpi, an area immediately adjacent to the reserve. The Roatan Chocolate Factory has partnered with the Wildlife Conservation Society to promote the conservation of La Moskitia, Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. The purchase of wild shade grown chocolate from La Moskitia helps to further these conservation efforts.
